Melbourne Fashion Week '23 Runway with OnceWas

Melbourne Fashion Week is an annual celebration of style, creativity, and innovation, showcasing the best of Australian fashion. OnceWas made a triumphant return to the Melbourne Fashion Week runway this year!

This year's event marked our second appearance, and it was met with great anticipation and excitement. OnceWas has always been known for its commitment to quality, elegance, and sustainability, making it a perfect fit for Melbourne's fashion scene. What made this return even more special was the exciting addition of an extended size range to our brand's offerings. This inclusive approach to fashion resonated deeply with the audience.

We were delighted to have #OWwomen Lisa Davenport and Rebecca Little attend with us, both well-regarded influencers & OnceWas style muses that added an extra layer of glamour and fun to the event. Meeting at our OnceWas Styling Studio, Lisa, Rebecca, Belinda & the OW team got ready and headed to The Commons Collective for the event.

The fusion of fashion and food created a unique atmosphere, where attendees could savour the rich flavours of Melbourne while being immersed in Australia's most stylish brands including ELK, Ginger & Smart, Kirrikin, Mastani, Perple, Scotch & Soda, Twiice Boutique & Van Der Kooij. It was an event that engaged all the senses, celebrating the artistry not only of clothing but also of culinary delights.

For OnceWas, being invited back to Melbourne Fashion Week in 2023 was indeed a privilege. The brand's commitment to quality, sustainability, timeless design, and inclusivity through the addition of our extended size range, has continued to resonate with the city's fashion enthusiasts. The return to this prestigious event not only showcased OnceWas' evolution but also its unwavering dedication to Melbourne's fashion scene.

OnceWas made a powerful statement  on the Melbourne Fashion Week runway in 2023 with our custom hues of blue, green & bronze prints that feature in the Spring '23 collection Mystic Mayan. The fashion show's fusion with a delicious culinary experience paid tribute to Melbourne's diverse culture, making it an unforgettable evening for all in attendance.

What made this MFW particularly special was the commitment to diversity on the runway. Our designs were showcased on models of various backgrounds, body types, and ages. The runway was a true reflection of Melbourne's diverse culture & dedication to embracing the beauty of diversity in the world of fashion. This commitment to inclusivity was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience, our team felt incredibly proud to be celebrating beauty in all its forms while doing what we love the most.

As OnceWas continues to grow and evolve, it remains an integral part of Melbourne's fashion landscape. This runway event not only celebrated the brand's achievements but also set the stage for a promising future, highlighting the enduring relevance of OnceWas in the world of fashion, while embracing the newly extended size range, a testament to their commitment to inclusivity and diverse fashion.
